Friends, today was a very special day for me and all of us at Ranch Hand Rescue. We were able to meet and spend time with a true American Hero, SSgt. (Ret.) Johnnie Yellock II, USAF. who was severely wounded in Afghanistan in July of 2011. Johnnie and my friend Kathryn Flores from Lantana Living and Argyle Living Magazine visited RHR today and we talked about the Ranch Hand Rescue Counseling Program and discussed how we may be able to help more Veterans. Johnnie bought his therapy dog Argos and I am not sure who had more fun, Argos or myself I became aware of Johnnie thru Kathryn and was honored to be able to spend time with both of them today. Johnnie’s best friend, SrA Mark Forester was killed in Afghanistan. It was obvious how much Mark meant to him. It was sad but yet inspiring to hear Johnnie talk about him and his family. Johnnie honors him by sharing and helping the Mark Forester Foundation. Those of you who know me, know that I believe God brings people together for a reason. There are no mistakes. Meeting Johnnie today reminded me of my Dad, he was a War Hero too. It was an honor to meet Johnnie and spend time with he and Kathryn today. Johnnie has received The Bronze Star With Valor and A Purple Heart but he never mentioned his medals. He is a man of great character and humility. The world is full of hero’s. Our Teachers, Men & Woman of Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Nurses, Doctors, Volunteers for organizations and the list goes on and on. Today we Salute and Thank all the men and woman in our Military, All of our Veterans and all of those who died to protect our freedom and way of life. In Johnnies name we will post a Gold Plaque on our “Wall of Hope” to Honor his friend Mark Forester. Johnnie now devotes his life to helping other Veterans. He is doing amazing work. Welcome to the family Johnnie Yellock ll ! We look forward to working with you and helpingahero.org
